My Psoriasis Diet

My day usually begins with a glass of Berri apricot nectar and breakfast consists of Nu-Vit gluten free muesli, slice a banana over it and Sanitarium So Good Lite. On occasions I will have scrambled or boiled eggs.

Lunch consists of Corn Thins. To find out if they are available in your country click the international availability link in the right hand column of the site. I use Gold'n Canola spread. This is one product I have used since the early 90's and I found I had less irritation from my psoriasis once I started using it. After the spread I will add Vegemite or IXL Jams. Information on their Apricot jam here and Strawberry jam here and also honey and very occasionally peanut butter.

Dinner is usually chicken with frozen vegetables. For over a year I ate brown rice every night with chicken and vegetables and my Doctor stated that was why my cholesterol reduced from 5.5 to 4.9 over an 18 month period. Currently I am eating brown rice occasionally. Also I might make a jelly and in the recent past I have been eating Jalna Low Fat Yoghurt. Yes I know they're not dairy free but it was recommended by my naturopath to help cope with my addiction for sweet things as was So Good Frozen Desserts which are gluten and dairy free. Yum yum.

I also have in my house tea, caffeine free diet coke to mix with the occasional Jim Beam I have, Berri Apricot Nectar, nothing of interest on the net about this but it is beautiful. I have cashews and raisins, usually together for snack food as well as various canned fruit and beetroot. I don't eat much fruit, bananas all year round and whatever is in season except for citrus fruit which I avoid because of their acidity.

In May 2011 I started taking Swisse Wild Fish Oil Liquid. The recommended amount is 10.5 mls a day. In July 2011 I started taking Natures Way Joint Restore with Rose-hip and Glucosamine. Both of these products had a positive pain relieving affect on my arthritis but a remarkable change happened in August 2011 when I stopped drinking coffee. No more caffeine means basically pain free days and a much better range of movement that is continuing to improve.
